Candidates

Our 2025 Candidates' Course begins on Tuesday, April 1, at 7 p.m. at Parker Middle School, Taunton.

In order to become an official with the SCFOA, you must enroll in our candidates' course that runs every spring. The course is a 10-week, in-person program that integrates classroom instruction with on-field mechanics practice. There is no test component to the course. Those who complete the course will be able to work games in the upcoming season.

The course is also offered asynchronously, where a candidate can review course material at their own pace. Those who select the asynchronous option will be required to pass a test with an 80% grade to obtain membership into the SCFOA.
